Khalifa Bin Huwaidan Alketbi Advocates and Legal Consultants has successfully represented the defendants in a commercial dispute filed by Tesla Motors Netherlands B.V. – Dubai Branch before the Sharjah Court of First Instance, resulting in the complete dismissal of the claim.

The claimant sought compensation of AED 250,708, together with legal interest and costs, alleging losses arising from a vehicle involved in a test-drive accident in Sharjah. The claim was based on an alleged breach of a test-drive agreement after the vehicle was reportedly driven by an unauthorized individual.

During the proceedings, the court appointed an automotive engineering expert to assess the alleged damages. The expert report identified significant gaps in the claimant’s documentation, including the absence of key technical and valuation records necessary to establish the vehicle’s actual loss.

In its judgment delivered on 25 February 2026, the court applied the principles of civil liability under Federal Law No. 5 of 1985 (UAE Civil Transactions Law), emphasizing that liability requires proven fault, damage, and causation. Finding the claim unsupported by sufficient evidence, the court dismissed the lawsuit in full.

The decision reflects the firm’s meticulous litigation strategy and commitment to protecting clients’ interests in complex commercial disputes.
