Pursuing a medical degree in the United Arab Emirates is not the only criteria to be eligible for a ten-year Golden Visa, completing secondary education with an aggregate score of 95% or above can also make a person eligible for golden residency visa under the student category.

Dubai: the 10 year Golden Visa is a program that has been put in place to attract investors, and distinguished careers seekers especially in the Medical field, however few metrics will need to be respected in order to be eligible to apply.

Student Eligibility Criteria:

For a student to be eligible to get a Golden Visa, they have to fall within either of the two categories defined below:

·       The First category includes the Students who are UAE Residents and have completed their secondary education with an aggregate score of 95% and above from UAE.

·     The Second category includes students who completed graduation from another country and are currently seeking to get the UAE Golden Visa as student when pursuing higher studies.

In the event you fall under the First category, and you have completed your graduation from UAE You will need to hold a bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate degree licensed by the Ministry of Education, with 3.5 cumulative average for classification under ‘A’ category and 3.8 cumulative average for classification under ‘B’ category. You also need to have been graduated within two (2) years from the date of your application. The requirement will only be completed once you provide a copy of your passport and a UAE residency visa.

In the event you fall under the Second category, and you have completed your graduation from outside of the UAE, applying for UAE Golden visa is still possible. However you will need to provide several documentations relating to your previous university, whereby that university should be listed under the 100 worldwide recognized universities as per international classification standards, and as approved by the UAE Ministry of Education, with a grade of 3.5 or higher and your passport copy.

It remains important to highlight that the General Directorate of Residency & Foreigners Affairs of Dubai may approve the submitted application for a golden residency visa under “student category” based on other factors such as high academic standards, sports or co-curricular activities you may have conducted where you have studied abroad.
